An oligotrophic lake located in the Pir Panjal Range in the Kulgam District of Kashmir valley, Kausar Nag needs no introduction to explain its prodigious beauty. This beautiful lake is the main source of drinking water in Kashmir valley and is known for its freshness. It lies at an elevation of 4000 metres above the sea level. This beautiful lake is a trekker’s paradise transversing pine-covered mountains, rumbustious waters flowing down for 25 metres below Aharbal creating a beautiful waterfall.

How to reach:

By road: This lake is approached from Srinagar 61 km by road via Srinagar-Pulwama Rd. And later it is followed by a 28 km trek or a horse ride.
