This craft uses a special type of Ladhaki creamish-green stone called Pashm or Hakikh that are found in mountainous regions of Ladakh. The craft also known as Ferozi is named after the breathtaking oceanic shade of blue. This is due to the fact that the stones used in the craft are painted blue since the inception of the craft.
